Healthy Sweet Potato Chocolate Mousse

Since I have more than one chocolate lover at home (starting with myself 😉), I try to find various ways to satisfy that craving while also incorporating something that will make not only our taste buds happy but also our body cells. This is one of these ideas. 🙂

Not only does this mousse satisfy our chocolate cravings, but it also harnesses the nutritional powerhouse of sweet potatoes, known for their potassium richness and cancer-fighting proteins. The peel of a sweet potato has nearly ten times the antioxidant power as the flesh, similar to blueberries. So consider using the sweet potato skin as well. 🙂

Sweet potatoes contain a unique type of protein with potential anticancer effects. This protein, known as a protease inhibitor, has been studied for its ability to fight against certain types of cancer, including leukemia and tongue cancer. It has been shown to suppress the growth of cancer cells and might even be absorbed into the bloodstream intact, having potential effects on advanced cervical cancer and colorectal cancer (source).

Serve this mousse as a guilt-free dessert that not only indulges your sweet tooth but also contributes to your overall health, thanks to the wonderful properties of sweet potatoes.
