Amazing Chocolate and Vanilla Spread: Vegan, Oil-free, Refined Sugar-free
Jasmina
Go back to your childhood with this two colour chocolate and vanilla spread. ❤️🍫This type of bread spread was one of my favorites while growing up. Unfortunately, apart from instant gratification and a lot of empty calories, most spreads of this kind on the market don't provide anything beneficial. This recipe is my version of chocolate and vanilla spread that everyone in our family enjoys, and I serve it with a clear conscience knowing that it is filled with delicious, nutritionally rich ingredients. 🍀
125mlsoy drinkor other unsweetened plant-based drink
2 ½tablespoonstahinior hazelnut butter
1 ½tablespoonscocoa powder
¼teaspoonground vanilla
Instructions
For the vanilla spread:
Soak the dates in warm water and let them soften for about an hour.
After the dates have softened, drain them and put them in a food processor or blender, add the almond butter, vanilla, and blend well until you get a smooth mixture.
For the chocolate spread:
Soak the dates in soy drink and let them soften for about an hour.
After the dates have softened, put them together with the soy drink in a food processor or blender, add tahini, cocoa powder, and vanilla, and blend everything well until you get a smooth mixture.
Pour both spreads simultaneously into the same jar (you'll need an extra pair of hands) or store them in separate jars and mix them when serving. Keep refrigerated for about 7 days.
Tips and Info
If you're allergic to almonds, you can use cashew butter or tahini instead. When using tahini, the colour will be slightly darker.
