Turmeric Latte has been my favourite warm beverage for a long time, and I drink it every day. There are many different blends available on the market, but they often contain added sugars or other ingredients that I wish to avoid or simply don't like, so I make my own blend.
Mix all ingredients well and store in a closed container (for example a jar) in a dry and dark place.
For Turmeric Latte, option 1
Put 1/2 teaspoon spice blend into a tall glass or cup.
Bring the water to a boil and add it to the glass up to 2/3 of the height of the glass or mug. Stir well.
Top up the glass with cold or slightly warmed oat or soy milk. Serve immediately.
For Turmeric Latte, option 2
Pour 200ml of water plus 100ml of plant-based milk of your choice into a small saucepan, add half to one teaspoon of spice blend and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Cook at low temperature for about 3-4 minutes while stirring.
Transfer the tea to a heat-resistant glass or mug and enjoy.
Tips and Info
To enhance the absorption of curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, it's best to consume it with black pepper and fat. Since black pepper is already included in the spice blend, and I personally don't like adding oils or similar ingredients to my tea, I usually make sure to consume some healthy fats before or after the tea, such as flax or chia seeds, tahini, or a few nuts.
