I fell in love with guacamole after my dear Mexican friend made it. Every time someone organised a picnic or gathering, I would look forward to her guacamole the most. Eventually, I asked her for the recipe, which I have probably modified a hundred times since then ;), but regardless, whenever I manage to buy good avocados, tasty guacamole is guaranteed :).
a small amount of fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish
Instructions
Peel and pit the avocados. Transfer them to a container suitable for an immersion blender.
Add salt, cayenne pepper, chilli powder, and lemon juice, then blend until smooth. You can also do this with a fork, try both and see which texture you prefer.
Finely chop the red onion and tomato, and add them to the mixture. Stir with a spoon, without blending.
Serve as a dip or spread. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
Tips and Info
Cilantro is offered here as an optional garnish. In fact, according to many recipes, cilantro is one of the essential ingredients. However, since many people strongly dislike its taste (myself included ;)), I decided to play it safe this way.
