Go back to your childhood with this two colour chocolate and vanilla spread. ❤️🍫This type of bread spread was one of my favorites while growing up. Unfortunately, apart from instant gratification and a lot of empty calories, most spreads of this kind on the market don’t provide anything beneficial. This recipe is my version of chocolate and vanilla spread that everyone in our family enjoys, and I serve it with a clear conscience knowing that it is filled with delicious, nutritionally rich ingredients. 🍀
How can you make Chocolate and Vanilla Spread healthier?
That was exactly the question I asked myself when I planned to create this recipe. I knew I didn’t want to use oils or refined sugar. Calories were not a big concern to me, because this spread is still a treat, but what I did concentrate on was that those calories were not empty, instead that they carried with them as many useful nutrients as possible and no harmful ones. Dates are my favorite healthy natural sweetener; cocoa and vanilla are there for an unforgettable taste; instead of oil, I use tahini or hazelnut butter in the chocolate spread, and almond butter in the vanilla spread. All ingredients are natural, minimally processed and amazingly delicious. Enjoy!
P.S. If you’re allergic to nuts, you can use tahini instead. Just note than when using tahini, the colour will be slightly darker.
