Pink Ginger Smoothie

When I’m feeling tired, this is my favourite drink. Ginger and fruit give me energy, flaxseeds some nice omega-3s, but let’s be honest – it also cheers me up just because of how pretty it looks! 😍😋

I am not someone who likes sweet smoothies, the sugar from fruit in liquid form usually bothers me (in contrast with eating the whole unprocessed fruit). But this combination of berries and ginger is just perfect. I will admit that I sometimes leave the banana out and just add more berries, and it is still sweet enough for me. But you do you, and do experiment with the taste. 😋 Happy blending!

  • 100 g frozen berries a mix or your favourite kind

  • 5-10 g fresh ginger depending on how spicy you want it
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
  • 100 ml oat drink unsweetened

  • Wash and peal fresh ginger.
  • Put all ingredients except oat drink into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour into a tall glass until 2/3 full.
  • Top the glass off with oat drink.
  • Mix just a bit (to preserve two colours) and enjoy immediately.

Tips and Info

To get the most of flaxseed, buy them whole and grind them (in a blender or a coffee grinder) just before use or twice a week and keep in a closed glass container in the refrigerator. This way omega-3 fatty acids are best preserved.
If you wish for a less sweet drink, leave the banana out and add more berries instead. 🙂
