This delicious Vegan and Whole Food Plant-Based Chocolate-Chestnut Mousse is not only easy to prepare, but also Oil-Free and Added Sugar-Free. It’s a perfect option for when you are expecting friends to visit, but don’t have a lot of time to prepare a complicated treat. I usually keep a bag of peeled frozen chestnuts in my freezer so that I can prepare it when needed. Everyone loves it, and you can change it up by topping it with different types of berries or by sprinkling some more chocolate over it.
Vegan Chocolate-Chestnut Mousse, Sweetened With Dates

Ingredients
- 500 g peeled frozen chestnuts
- 600 ml oat drink (oat milk)
- 200 g pitted dates
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- a dash of vanilla
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring the chestnuts and oat milk to a boil. Cook over medium heat for about 10 – 15 minutes or until the chestnuts soften.
- Remove from heat and add dates, cocoa powder, and vanilla.
- Use an immersion blender to puree everything until smooth.
- Serve warm or cold with fresh raspberries (optional).
